Bush Walk

Canon 7D, 18-55mm (Bush Path), Sigma 120-400mm (Leaf)

I went on a bushwalk today at the Pelorus Bridge, Half way between Blenheim and Nelson, in the South Island of New Zealand. These are two of the photos I took overlaid with each other - the first a shot of a leaf with the sunlight shining through it, and the other the actual path we were walking on. Experimenting was fun and this is what I came up with, which I really like.

Country Entrance

Canon 7D, 18-55mm Lens

Everytime I've driven past this driveway, I kept saying to myself i should stop and take a photo.  After three years I finally did.  The light was right - (nearly sunset), with the sun casting a golden glow over everything.  In winter, when there are no leaves, it is also an imposing sight, so I will try and take an image  in Winter as well.  To get this shot I lay the camera on the ground on top of a rock for stability.

Autumn Vines

Canon 7D,10-22mm Lens

Autumn in Blenheim is beautiful when all the grapes turn hues of red, orange, and yellow.  The rows go for miles, and it's hard to get the right angle.  Here I tried to show a smattering of what the leaves are like close up, but allowing our eyes to follow the vines to give an idea of what the land looks like overall.
