The Colourful Buildings of Burano, Venice
Canon 7D, 18-55mm Lens
Walking around the Island of Burano, Venice, late afternoon. The buildings and canals were beautiful colours. I have even gone so far as looking at house prices there - what a great place it would be to live! There would be no end of photographic opportunities!

The Old Fridge
Canon 7D, 10-22mm Lens.
3 shot HDR
This abandoned building still had old wallpaper from years ago - the one with the sacking backing. All peeling. Old Floors, mess, broken toilet, old oven, it was a photographers dream! So we took advantage of it for a few hours.

Petrified Forest, Uncovered for First Time
Canon 7D, 10-22mm Lens
I lived in Auckland, 3km from this beach for 40 years. For the very first time, low tide uncovered this Petrified Forest and volcanic ash/mud on Takapuna Beach. Once this forest went from here through to Great Barrier Island, but Rangitoto put paid to that when it erupted - approximately 600 years ago. The volcano has been dormant since, and can be seen here in the distance. It's one of Auckland's Icons, and a view that is missed now I live in the South Island. A stunning winters day, and I even got a photo of someone sunbathing in a Bikini.

Pink Sky at Night, Shepherds Delight
At the back of the Avon Valley one evening we came across a beautiful pink sky and landscape. Naturally we had to stop the car and take the image!
